National Autistic Society
🌈 Lace up for World Autism Acceptance Week in 2024 with the National Autistic Society! 🌟
Kicks Shoelaces is delighted to support the National Autistic Society with World Autism Acceptance Week, from 2 to 8 April 2024. Come together to celebrate, fundraise, and help create a society that works for autistic people.
World Autism Acceptance Week
World Autism Acceptance Week is the time to show your support for autistic people and their families. It’s about increasing understanding of autism and the difficulties many autistic people face and fundraising for better services, support and opportunities.
Spectrum Colour Walks
The colour theme is back for 2024! Take part in a 5km Spectrum Colour Walk in London, Leeds or Birmingham on Saturday 6 April and you’ll enjoy a colourful day out in a calm, inclusive green space. Or you can do your own Spectrum Colour Walk wherever you are. This gives you the freedom to personalise your event, from selecting your preferred location and determining the distance (while we suggest 5km, the choice is yours) to setting the date and time that best suits your schedule. This event is all about empowering you to make it uniquely yours, ensuring a memorable and meaningful experience.
How Kicks Shoelaces is helping.
After you register for the Spectrum Colour Walk in London, Leeds or Birmingham, you'll receive a free pair of our rainbow no-tie shoelaces. If you are doing your own Spectrum Colour Walk, you’ll receive your shoelaces after raising £10.
Why get involved?
Autistic people face discrimination and barriers across all sectors of society – in the health and social care systems, in education, employment, and everywhere in between. It is crucial that autistic people, and their families and carers, can access tailored information, guidance and support to overcome those barriers, along with opportunities to explore their interests, develop skills and build friendships for fulfilled lives.
Getting involved in World Autism Acceptance Week is an opportunity to be a positive force for change, to transform lives and to be part of creating a more inclusive society.
